Patrons Design Library Cards for San Francisco Public Library

When the SF Public Library invited its users to submit their own designs for library cards, they ended up with over 3,500 submissions from artists of all ages.  The above were chosen as the winners in each of the age categories:  2nd grade and under, 3rd–5th grade, middle school, high school, and adult.

Each piece of art was submitted with a title and description.  My personal favorite came from the one entitled “Penguins Love Books Too,” in which the young artist said that his design should be chosen because it would appeal to “people who like floppy penguins and like to read books.”  And really, who doesn’t like floppy penguins?
